Mechtop AG has not put any kind of importance on the topic of internal communication. Hence, the internal communication in the company did not follow any rules. So, it was obvious that the horizontal-, as well as the vertical internal communication needed a clear structure.
The new internal communication concept was developed using different kinds of literature in combination with the primary research done, which included a survey and interviews. After a detailed analysis, we were able to propose solutions based on our knowledge and the use of literature.
Problems found concerning internal communication where mostly about a lack of appreciation and acceptance perceived, as well as the desire to be better informed. It was found out that the communication of the management as well as the one between the different supervisors need to be worked on the most. Possible solutions for the problems occurring in the company would be for the management to have a uniform and clear leadership and to develop clear structures of how supervisors would like information to be delivered between the departments. Furthermore, it is also advised that the company should foster the employees to give more feedback which can be facilitated with the help of several methods. The paper itself has gone into detail on each of the forms of horizontal (lateral) as well as vertical communication being present in the company Mechtop AG which are explained in detail in the paper.
