The consulting landscape in the financial industry is experiencing a transformative due to the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This thesis explores how AI can change how consulting works in the financial industry. Traditionally, consulting relies on people. However, AI offers an opportunity to make the process faster and enhance efficiency through automation and self-service tools. The goal is to assist managers in making better financial decisions.

Addressing this gap, the thesis proposed an AI–human consulting framework developed through a Design Science Research approach. By decomposing the consulting process into phases and task-level activities, the framework makes expert knowledge explicit at the level of individual decisions usable for different roles in a consulting environment. This includes identifying needs, gathering expert knowledge, using AI to create models, and verifying the results.

The study examines how expert knowledge can be transformed into valuable input for AI tools, and whether these methods can be incorporated into platforms like ABILI.
