Ronal AG operates in a highly competitive environment where timely sales transparency is essential. Existing reporting approaches were largely delayed and therefore limited proactive performance steering. The project addressed the need for a modern, KPI-based sales controlling solution that supports faster insight and reliable decision-making.
The project followed a structured, phase-based approach with iterative feedback loops and regular client alignment meetings. After analysing the existing sales controlling setup, relevant KPIs were defined and operationalized together with stakeholders and end-users. During data validation, risks related to the original data source were identified, leading to a scoped adjustment. A revised, stable data foundation was selected, and a KPI-based dashboard was designed and implemented in Qlik Sense.
The project resulted in a functional Qlik Sense application supporting revenue reporting and plan-versus-actual analysis. The dashboard integrates transactional sales data and planning inputs, enables daily and monthly aggregation, and applies standardized product group definitions to ensure consistent KPI interpretation. Business users can analyze revenue development across time periods and product groups using intuitive, structured views. Beyond the technical solution, the project delivered significant organizational value by identifying data continuity risks early in the ERP transformation process. It highlighted the importance of proactive data source validation and closer alignment between ERP change initiatives and downstream reporting solutions. Overall, the project fulfilled the success criteria defined in the project charter by delivering a usable, future-oriented sales controlling solution that strengthens transparency, decision support, and long-term reporting stability.
