Today IT and especially the development of customer focused software has become one of the most important elements for a company to remain competitive in the market. The primary purpose of this study is to determine if it is possible to improve the agile development of a company by adjusting the software development process regarding cultural, technical and management dimensions as well as current trends. The Master Thesis can be divided into three main parts: First actual trends were analysed regarding to their effect on the software development process. Additionally the theory of current (agile) approaches (SCRUM, Feature Driven Development and Extreme Programming) is explained and the mapping regarding artefacts, process, roles and values has been performed on a high level to set them in comparison. The analysis of the existing development approaches state, that there is no silver bullet when it comes to agile software development.
