In regulated industries, digital platforms are used to deliver training and promote consistency across global teams. However, employees described the platform as outdated, text-heavy, and misaligned with job roles. The company sought to evaluate user experience and identify barriers to engagement and learning retention.
A qualitative research approach was used. Eleven employees from different regions and departments were interviewed using a semi-structured guide. The transcripts were anonymized and analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify patterns and challenges related to usability, relevance, and engagement.
The study showed that while the platform meets compliance needs, users found it unengaging, difficult to navigate, and not tailored to their roles. Based on the findings, five key improvement areas were identified. Make content more interactive (e.g., videos, scenarios, quizzes), resolve technical and structural issues, align training with specific job functions, improve communication around training expectations, and create feedback channels for users. These changes would enhance employee motivation, increase platform acceptance, and position digital learning as a strategic tool. The results provide a roadmap to modernize learning in global, highly regulated settings.
