The company's restructuring saw the merging of autonomous teams into one division, which has presented certain challenges. The paper identifies a number of key challenges, including the need to adjust to new roles, maintain clear communication, foster collaboration, and manage morale amidst uncertainty. The thesis proposes strategies to reinforce organisational communication, augment employee engagement, and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.
The study employs semi-structured interviews and systematic data collection to assess internal communication tools and employee engagement, with a particular focus on the role of leadership and employees in ensuring clear communication during organisational changes. The study evaluates the organisation's current communication channels to determine their effectiveness in meeting employee needs and ensuring the timely delivery of information. The aim is to identify areas for improvement and to develop more effective communication and employee engagement strategies.
The comprehensive study presented in the thesis emphasises the critical role of engaging leadership and effective, tailored communication in fostering employee engagement during times of organisational change. It highlights leaders' need to provide clear, timely, and comprehensive communication to guarantee a seamless transition. The thesis provides practical recommendations to enhance internal communication, facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and establish robust support structures for employees during organisational transitions. Implementing these strategies is expected to enhance overall organisational performance and increase employee satisfaction. Moreover, the thesis provides valuable insights that contribute to the existing literature on organisational behaviour and change management, offering a foundation for future research in this field. The study's findings highlight the interdependence of leadership, communication, and employee engagement as key factors in achieving successful organisational change.
