This project investigates, whether or not a proposed case-based configurator for the configuration and deployment of Tryton ERP for SMEs in Switzerland could bring any advantages compared with existing software configurators for ERP. Starting off, requirement for such a system are developed, which are later used for proving if the components work as designed. They also contribute to as measures to the comparison of different state-of-the-art software configurators for ERP. Developing use-cases, which are eventually configurations for the deployment of the ERP system, a basis for the following components and investigation is created. With the aid of the requirements, a questionnaire, the interface to the customers for the case-based configurator, is developed. Finally, putting the pieces together, the case-based configurator as the core component and the driver of the questionnaire are presented. The benefits of such a solution in comparison with traditional software configuration approaches for ERP systems is explained, too. Finally, the benefits the case-based configurator can provide in the defined and investigated environment is reported.
