Collaboration platforms are used widely in the corporate professional environment. But Web 2.0 and enterprise social networking is not used to its full potential in a development and cooperation environment that could enable the members to express and contribute their tacit knowledge and leverage the value of knowledge by sharing and applying it for their daily work. The Swiss Agency of Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the international cooperation in Switzerland, which coordinates development projects in many countries across the world. These projects are executed in collaboration with partners from diverse field of work. Therefore, it becomes very challenging to bring these partners from various backgrounds to a common platform to exchange knowledge due to the differences in the culture, language, technical affinity, infrastructure etc. This thesis intent to analyze the influence of Web 2.0 principles on the knowledge exchange and knowledge application in a heterogeneous network of professionals working for the Rural Advisory Services in the area of Agriculture and Food Security (A+FS) network of SDC....
