Identification of a suitable digital solution for the document digitalization of Roche Berufsfeuerwehr
The Roche Berufsfeuerwehr is taking on the challenge of digitizing the current maintenance process to make the era of the paperless maintenance documentation process. Making the first steps in this era requires choosing the right software with the proper software identification approach.

More and more maintenance workers are looking for a maintenance process that is smooth, efficient, and not so paper-heavy. Storing documents takes up a lot of space, which can be used much more efficiently. Document searching takes a lot of time. Additionally, a person's handwriting may not be legible, and documents may be difficult to decipher. Each worker must also take the needed documentation and transport them through multiple plants, which can negatively affect physical health over a long period. Therefore, the maintenance process needs to be digitized with suitable software.
This bachelor thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part primarily focuses on the role of the Roche Berufsfeuerwehr, the maintenance process, and definitions of keywords. The second part explains which requirements have been collected and how these requirements are prioritized. The third part presents multiple software vendors with the advantages and disadvantages they offer. The last part focuses on the requirements comparison evaluation, the reason for some exclusions, and the recommendation of the software with the highest number of fulfilled requirements.
With the maintenance process observation and the interviews, it was possible to create a complete detailed requirements list. Thirty requirements were identified, and each of these requirements was ranked accordingly. This list also serves as a template that can be further adapted. It can additionally be enhanced since some priorities and needs can change in the future. With the requirement collection, the ranking, and the comparison with the individual evaluation, it was possible to determine four suitable software for the Roche Berufsfeuerwehr. Each software has achieved the required number of the needed fulfilled requirements. Furthermore, each has its key advantages and disadvantages, which are further highlighted and described in the results of this thesis. These four applications are recommended for the future work of the Roche Berufsfeuerwehr. Each software provides a demo that can be booked online or tested on the vendor's website.
