One of the key requirements for achieving the strategic objectives of facility management is the effectiveness of communication and information flow. To achieve this, research will be conducted into the state-of-the-art methods, approaches, and technologies that are used.
The scope of this study is to gain a comprehensive understanding of computer aided design and real estate and facility management, to be able to analyse the processes and guidelines that are defined, and to be able to conduct interviews with the stakeholders in the real estate and facility management department. With the analysis of the current state and the state of the art, the gap can be defined and the way, how the gap will be closed.
The client should use this bachelor thesis as source for further discussion regarding not only the bottlenecks which were found, but also the state of the art of real estate and facility management, which is currently practiced. These supporting processes have the potential to be optimized, reducing the effort of supporting the core processes. The focused bottlenecks can be eliminated with the proposed software and tool, making more resources available.
