They possess two Online Assessment Platforms utilized for the Swiss market and intend to implement these in China. Thus, they would like first to clarify the necessary steps, financial commitment, and whether an implementation is feasible or not.
This thesis focuses on providing the client with information regarding the implementation process, a clear picture of the available options, and a suggested approach based on the analyzed results. The research questions serving as a guideline for this thesis are: What is required to host a website in China? How is the current solution structured, and what resources are utilized? Which suggested implementation approach is best suited and is an implementation feasible? The data required to answer these questions will be obtained through secondary research and by conducting several interviews.
An analysis of the Chinese internet environment revealed its strict and sophisticated internet censorship laws. It is therefore vital to obey the regulations and stay within the legal boundaries. By researching the process of hosting a website in China, it was deduced that the procedure is divided into three main parts: Buying a domain name, Buying/renting a Server, and obtaining an ICP Fil-ing/License. Two providers were chosen for further investigation from the vast amount of available hosting providers to find possible implementation methods. Subsequently, four distinct approaches were presented to the reader.
Based on the as-is situation and conducted research, it is recommended that Benoit Consulting AG implements using the fourth presented approach, which operates on Azure China, as it aligns with the client’s needs the most. Furthermore, it is proposed how the implementation can be accomplished and what prospective work must be performed following the thesis.
