The headquarters of Company X has a very strong brand in its base. However, the situation in Switzerland is slightly different. One of the reasons is that there is a fierce competition in the Swiss pharmaceutical sector and the brand of Company X is not as renowned as other competitors in the domestic market. In addition, as a relatively small organization, Company X has limited resources to guarantee a very promising career path and provide development opportunities for its employees.
Familiarization with the topic, Employer of Choice, was done through Literature review. The essence of the work would be the feedback and comments from the employees of the organization. Therefore, interviews with a small sample of employees were conducted as part of the empirical research. In addition, benchmarking with comparable pharmaceutical companies in Switzerland was made. Recommendations to enhance the branding of Company X would be given after the analysis of the interviews and benchmarking.
With the information gathered from literature research, interviews with employees and the benchmarking of the online resources of various pharmaceutical companies operating in Switzerland, the authors were able to provide answers to the objectives of the Thesis that were defined together with the company. The findings showed that Company X is already a great employer. However, some improvements can be made such as redesigning the corporate website, providing more career opportunities for employees ,upholding higher equality in the company, and collaborating with leading universities in Switzerland. A list of recommendations was provided to the client which is in terms of short-, mid-, and long-term goals. With these recommendations, Company X would further enhance its branding and reach the goal to become an Employer of Choice.
