Companies nowadays have to comply with several laws and regulations, such as the GDPR. While large corporations rely on their internal specialist, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises face challenges fulfilling diverse regulations. A compliance management tool could potentially help solve this problem.
Through desk research information published on the topic has been gathered. Furthermore interviews were conducted with Swiss SMEs and an expert to find out how SMEs handle compliance and the challenges during the process. Through the findings of the interviews, requirements could be determined. A compliance management tool chosen by the client was evaluated and the requirements were analyzed based on whether the tool could fulfill them. The results are benefits and limitations of the tool.
Through the defined benefits and limitations of the tool, recommendations could be made on the use of it in regard to Swiss SMEs. The client can use the results for consultations with SMEs and recommend the tool if considered fitting.
