The company is facing unused data from online services that hold them back from making better decisions according to the development of its online services. The big challenge is that the services are not appropriately measured, monitored, and evaluated. To understand how a specific service is performing, there are many steps that need to be done to get the relevant data, which then allows understanding part of the service. Without a clear understanding of the service and its relation to the business, it is impossible to make an appropriate assessment.
Individual interviews and a workshop are required to understand the current situation better. After that, the needs of the stakeholders are required to start with problem-solving and focusing on one special online service. To do so, the information flow of the online service is analyzed as well as the relevant data is collected in order to evaluate the service. In the end, the whole procedure should allow the company to use it as a prototype for the other online services.
The first result of the work is the complete set of requirements. Next to that, the prototype of one specific online service is used to establish the way of data-driven decision-making and come closer to a data-driven company. To achieve all that, the whole data-driven decision-making process is described in detail. The relevant data is consolidated, analyzed, and visualized as far as possible in order to be able to make decisions based on facts. In the end, there is an overview of the whole performance of the online service with additional steps and recommendations for future investigations.
