Currently, no traditional bank in Switzerland provides private and institutional clients with investment services focused on digital assets. From a product offering standpoint, this study investigates the confluence between traditional banking and the rising crypto sector. Moreover, the benefits of adopting a digital asset service for a traditional bank. If the core values would be hurt or the bank could benefit by establishing a service for crypto.
The study used a qualitative research method, in which existing banking systems and newly emerging digital asset needs were contrasted and evaluated from both a technological and operational standpoint.
The findings of the study aid in the adoption of digital assets in Switzerland and lower the obstacles to investment in such assets. Traditional banks are interested in the emergence of the crypto world because it may provide investment options for their clients. This study revealed new information that could help banks take a more targeted approach.
