Seniors in Switzerland face various problems: Due to worsening physical health and financial reasons, seniors often are less mobile than they used to be. Additionally, partners and friends start to decease due to the course of time. It becomes difficult to live an independent life. Seniors which are left on their own are susceptible to negligence and mental illnesses such as depressions. That is also indicated by a rising number of suicides each year. On top of that Switzerland’s population is aging rapidly which makes it difficult for the younger generations to fulfill all the senior’s needs.
In the course of market research, this project aims to find answers about how to combat the rising problem and how we can leverage Swiss seniors to maintain an independent and valuable life as long as possible. Therefore, the group conducted 31 interviews, focusing on different aspects of senior's daily lives. The outcome will provide a basis for the development of a smart chatbot for seniors. This chatbot’s purpose is to simplify and enhance the life of seniors. Furthermore, the project team develops four potential use cases and acquires seniors who are willing to test the prototype.
A comprehensive understanding of how seniors function and what their current needs consist of was elaborated. Then, four possible use cases were created. Furthermore, a list of seniors who are willing to test the prototypes was generated and provided to the client.
