Bee mortality is a huge issue nowadays. Year by year, more bee colonies die and there is no stop in sight. Since most of the causing factors, such as the use of pesticides, monotone agricultural landscapes, urbanization and habitat destruction are all human made, BEEYOND aims to encourage people, especially Millennials, to not only become aware about bee mortality, but also to take action now. Combining this mindset with a unique business concept, creates a product more than just craftsmanship, creativity and heritage, and instead puts a meaningful message for adding value to society and environment in some way or other.

This bachelor thesis depicts the author's journey over the last months, from the discovery of a business idea inspired by an innovative blockchain application over the creation of a solid concept in the form of a business plan to the development & implementation on a strategic as well as functional level. By applying his theoretical knowledge acquired in the Major "International Entrepreneurship", the author gained the necessary skillset to establish the company, develop the market entry strategy and begin with its practical implementation.
In the first section, secondary research from journals, reports and articles on sustainable business models and the issue of bee mortality served as literature that was reviewed for this thesis. The analysis and evaluation of sustainable beekeeping methods and challenges complete the theoretical review. Combining all insights, a thorough sustainable beekeeping plan was established which should provide a valuable framework for the business development of BEEYOND.
The second part is all about the business concept, products and impact creation, where the acquired theoretical knowledge about market analysis, business model creation and market entry strategy has been applied to establish the business plan – which at the same time served as a foundation for the last part, the strategy development & implementation.
In the last section, the development & implementations of the strategy as well as performed activities are documented. It incorporates the analysis, reflection and key learnings of critical decisions & activities that have already been executed at this initial stage. Moreover, a deeper insight of the process in the areas of corporate identity, product development, marketing and distribution are presented and explained.
At the end, a future outlook is offered by the author which is complemented by a comprehensive road map.
First and foremost, this bachelor thesis provides a solid sustainable business concept, backed by topic-relevant literature, which merges the best of both worlds, a traditional industry business (em-)powered by innovative blockchain applications that allow for doing business in a borderless, transparent and innovative manner.
Moreover, this paper provides the analysis and documentation of the strategic developments & implementations that have already been executed and serves as a valuable documentation for the future development of this business case.
