Drawing on Resource Dependency Theory, Resource-Based View, and Platform Ecosystem Theory, the study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews with fintech founders, investors, and platform providers, and a quantitative survey of fintech firms. The findings demonstrate that digital platforms significantly influence startup growth by enhancing funding access, improving operational efficiency, and enabling scalability.
Furthermore, the study finds that platforms contribute to long-term sustainability and competitive advantage by fostering customer engagement, supporting product innovation, and facilitating strategic partnerships. However, the research also reveals challenges, including dependency risks and regulatory uncertainties. The study offers actionable recommendations for entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers on leveraging digital platforms to support sustainable fintech innovation in Nigeria.
