Nonetheless, assessing and improving an organization’s capacity for innovation can be difficult for many. In order to solve this problem, this Bachelor Thesis creates and validates a Maturity Model for Business Innovation specifically for WeatherPlus Joint Stock Company. The thesis identifies the current challenges in business model innovation through an extensive literature review. These challenges include complex interdependencies in value creation and capture, fostering an innovation-friendly culture, financial constraints, and difficulties in conceptualizing novel products.
To address these challenges, the thesis proposes a structured maturity model comprising six key components: Strategy, Culture, Processes, Technology, Resources, and Measurement. Based on the theoretical foundations, maturity levels and components are chosen at the outset of the investigation. Pilot testing with WeatherPlus Joint Stock Company validates the model’s actual applicability and reveals important areas for improvement. Expert interviews also offer more confirmation and make improvements suggestions.
This robust framework systematically evaluates and improves an organization’s innovation maturity. It offers strategic recommendations to help businesses allocate resources, engage employees, and maintain innovative projects, all of which improve competitiveness. However, the study acknowledges limitations such as the small sample size and context-specific findings. To evaluate the model’s long-term impact, future research should concentrate on conducting prospective studies and increasing the sample size across other industries. It will be further improved through ongoing refinement based on comments from various organizations. Overall, this thesis demonstrates that a well-structured maturity model can significantly enhance an organization’s innovation capacity, supporting the thesis statement and contributing to long-term success and growth.
