7Days, a company specializing in press wholesale and logistics, still needs to further develop its data infrastructure to fully support the demands of its diversified portfolio. The company faces challenges with siloed customer data across various systems, lacking holistic visibility and standardized reporting. This hinders the ability to derive insights and monitor KPIs effectively. To address this, 7Days aims to develop an integrated dashboard to harmonize data, streamline KPI tracking, and enhance strategic decision-making.
The methodology involves a literature review, qualitative analysis, and Design Science Research (DSR). It starts with analyzing 7Days' infrastructure and stakeholder needs through interviews. A BI architecture is then designed, assessing data sources and creating a prototype using Power BI. The project progresses through planning and partially implementing the system, focusing on data transformation and dashboard development. A Proof of Concept validates the framework, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
The project resulted in the successful development of an integrated dashboard for 7Days, considering the company's existing data infrastructure and business needs. By creating a conceptual data model and implementing extract, transform, and load processes, the project integrated diverse data sources into a cohesive system, enabling tracking of Key Performance Indicators. The dashboard prototype, built using Power BI, provides dynamic visualizations, facilitating better customer relationship management and strategic decision-making.
Despite some challenges, the project established a solid foundation for 7Days to enhance its Customer Relationship Management capabilities. The Proof of Concept received positive feedback, although further refinements in data validation and KPI formulas are needed. Recommendations include improving data accuracy, refining KPI logic, and expanding the dashboard’s capabilities to incorporate predictive analytics in the future. Overall, the project marks a significant step toward more efficient, data-driven operations in the logistics business of 7Days.
