The goal of this master thesis is to find or create a model for the description of case studies for the digital transformation of enterprise IT under the context of the FHNW CxO study (FHNW, 2016b). In a conducted literature research, existing transformation and case study models are described and the existing literature gap outlined. In additional chapters, the used research method and strategy for the thesis is described following three chapters of results and evaluation. In a last chapter, the conclusion of the research work is described. This thesis concludes that the existing case study models are not comprehensive enough to describe complex case studies for the digital transformation of enterprise IT under the context of the FHNW CxO study, therefore the target was to develop a new case study model from scratch and to evaluate this model accordingly. The result of this thesis is a comprehensive model for the description of case studies for the digital transformation of enterprise IT and a corresponding best practice method. The results aim at creating a common approach to collect and document digital transformation of enterprise IT case studies and setting a standard for the definition of best practices in the area of digital transformation of enterprise IT.
