Digital transformation represents one of the most popular subjects in today’s business world. Moreover, a number of industries and various businesses are going through it. The ABILI methodology developed by the abiliCor GmbH is supporting companies in their digital transformation journey. In order to successfully implement digital transformation the use of Strategic Project Portfolio Management is necessary, as it relates to identify and select critical projects to execute the strategic aspirations. Consequently, this paper evaluates the current literature on the subject, as well as various interviews in order to create a Strategic Project Portfolio Management framework which can be applied in the current ABILI methodology. During the design science approach a Strategic Project Portfolio Management Framework was developed. This thesis explores numerous readings on the subject including various research articles, books, and different publications. It also explains the literature gap and offers the definitions and explanations on numerous terms found in research. Since its focus is on the applicability and integration into the current ABILI methodology, the artefact development and evaluation were enriched with industry experts in both fields of expertise, Portfolio Management as well as the expert team in ABILI....
