Digital Twin of an Agile Project

In the last two decades, companies of all sizes have faced ever faster, more unpredictable, and more complex framework conditions. Accordingly, the idea of the Digital Twin (DT) has emerged in the context of this trend (Trauer et al., 2020). This Digital Twin concept has also attracted the attention of researchers and practitioners in the business process management area, who are now trying to apply it to organisations (Becker & Pentland, 2022). A digital twin of an organisation (DTO) aims to represent all elements and connections of an organisational system in virtual models that can be constantly simulated and analysed to achieve continuous assessment and optimisation of an organisation (Caporuscio et al., 2020). With digital transformation, project management is shifting more and more from the traditional waterfall approach to an agile, iterative process (Bergmann & Karwowski, 2019). This Master Thesis will discuss the creation of a concept to enable Digital Twins of Agile Projects and wants to outline how the metrics of agile project management methods (APM) can be used to simulate a project.
