Stakeholder Management Interessengemeinschaft Aaregondel Live Project Work 2021
New housing is being built in the east of Solothurn, and cultural facilities are also being expanded. These projects are already causing an increased traffic volume and will challenge the public transport infrastructure in the future. The answer is now to be a cable car called the "Aaregondel".

The IG Aaregondel proposes opening this area with a cable car to combat the infrastructure challenges, and they see the gondola as an ideal complement and part of the public transport offer. The gondola starts at the central station in Solothurn and ends via a middle station in Zuchwil in the Attisholz-Areal.
The interest group has given the project team two tasks. As a first task the attitude of stakeholders towards the Aaregondel will be captured and analysed. As a second one, the demand figures for the gondola are to be examined and verified, using figures on demographic development.
In cooperation with the interest group, the most important stakeholders were identified, their contact details were compiled, and talking points were defined. Next, the IG Aaregondel introduced the project team and its mission to the stakeholders. Finally, the project team contacted the stakeholders and arranged eight meetings. The stakeholders were also classified into four categories based on their role in the project Aaregondel.
Further, the project team obtains figures from various sources, such as cantonal offices or reports from stakeholders, to check the demand figures.
As the project itself, the results can be divided into two parts:
Qualitative results: The IG Aaregondel receives a framework with which they can efficiently conduct and monitor target-oriented stakeholder management for the project. Additionally, interviews with various stakeholders were held, the insights summarized, and the corresponding next steps defined and documented.
Quantitative results:The IG Aaregondel has to deal with numerous key figures related to the development areas near Solothurn. As part of the quantitative work, the project team analyzed the up to now employed figures by the IG, conducted desk research and prepared an overview with the key figures. Further, additional data concerning the alternative means of public transport, namely bus and boat, has been collected and summarized.
