The initial situation of the client is that there are no investigations currently on the information flow in their Ad Operation department. With this project, there will be the first investigation on what kind of information flows through the processes within their department. And on how it can be improved.
For this project, the different processes in the department have been investigated. Afterward, these processes were modeled in BPMN 2.0 notation and described to find out what kind of information is needed for these processes. Later a survey was created to look into the different challenges the employees face during these processes and what steps are currently taken to improve these situations.
The result was that in these processes, there were a lot of client- and project-specific processes, that can not be unified. For these kinds of situations, the knowledge management tools, internal wiki, daily meetings, and training sessions that were already in use can be improved in terms of regularity and also in creating knowledge-sharing environments. Also, another benefit for the clients was that the processes first were investigated and modeled to also get an overview of what tasks these processes include and what steps are necessary to fulfill the goals.
