Huber AG encountered several difficulties daily when attempting to follow the workflow of these processes. The project team and client have at first agreed on focusing on the Sales-Process which needed some standardisation.
The first step of the project was to get an overview of the current situation. To do this, several employees have been interviewed and asked about their problems and how they work with the new ERP. With the information provided, a problem analysis could then be established that highlighted current problems, their cause and their possible solution.
As a result of the project work, the client received a problem analysis that ranges from simple problems with low priority to more complex problems with higher priority. The problem analysis also highlights possible solutions. One of the solutions was to create process descriptions, that range from high level information to low level information. The higher level consists of textual and visual description of the whole sales-process and its subprocesses. The lower-level descriptions consist of instructions for the specific tasks in the new ERP. Another solution was to fix the reporting tool in the new ERP including low level instructions to utilize the tool. Furthermore, several optimization opportunities have been mentioned, such as the creation of a knowledge management concept, advise on performance optimization in the ERP, and more.
At the end of the project, several suggestions were already implemented. For example, the performance issues of the ERP were addressed by the provider, several bugs in the system were fixed, and the client now has process descriptions and instructions that facilitate the training of new employees.
