The rapid technological changes of our age force IT organizations to quickly adapt and implement new technologies. Unfortunately, the documentation of these changes is often lost. Also this organization faces the challenge of an system that has potential regarding its documentation. The business processes around the system but also the IT processes should therefore be documented. Additionally to make the documentation fully comprehensive, the system landscape and the user groups must be analyzed as well.
This work deals with the basics of the topics mentioned above. It also examines and explains the reasons for comprehensive documentations of systems and processes. Possible methods and tools for the implementation were examined, evaluated and finally selected. This thesis also describes how the various methods and tools were used during this work
Based on the information obtained, the project was successfully implemented and the system processes and user groups have been documented. Among other things, the transparency over the processes and systems ensured. Additionally, the organization is now less dependent on persons with knowledge monopolies thanks to the detailed documentation. Much more important, however, is that optimization projects can now be started on an already documented basis. The knowledge obtained is stored on a central collaboration platform and the modeled processes are stored in the process management repository of the respective platform.
